ALWAYS have a smaller RMS rating on your amp than your combined subwoofer output!
OR turn your amp DOWN! More amp power than sub power = bad things.
The amp and speaker RMS values should be close. 10% more power is ok, but you have to be aware that you have enough power to blow out the drivers.
I prefer quality over quantity ..... aka my Phoenix Gold Tantrum that puts out 75x4 @ 4 Ohms, but is 1 Ohm stable. Also, less watts puts less strain on the electrical system.
