Default speaker help

hello

i have the stock 6 disk changer with factory speakers. doesnt sound worth a flip.
would an amp help with these speakers or should i just replace the speakers? i listen to hard rock only so i dont need the rap bump but would like to feel the drums and bass. any ideas?
very small budget too

My opinion would be to upgrade the speakers then add an amp at a later date when budget permits. Amping up stock paper speakers is not the way to go.....they're just gonna blow. Another angle would be to add a small self contained/powered Bass unit like an Infiniti Basslink in with the stockers. I prefer the stock head unit so I upgraded 4 of the 6 speakers with plans to amplify plus go with the Infinity as money happens. I'm looking for clarity with clean bass and a stock look.

Hey RTexasF, I was thinking of getting the Infinity Basslink, but question is will it work with the stock headunit and where should I put this damn thing at? Left side closer end of the trunk or what?
