Default speakers for 91 accord lx coupe?

looking to install speaker system (speakers, sub, amp) in my 91 accord lx coupe. i'm looking for the best bang for the buck. anyone got suggestions?

ebay has pretty good deals on used speakers, you could try there too, but theses are probably the best sounding speakers for the price

Been using them for years and now compete in sound quality competitions with them and do pretty well.

For subwoofers and an ampyou cannot go wrong with JL Audio my friend... JL's are the most musical subwoofer out there and can reproduce just about any type of music you throw at them... JL all the way !!

I am running 2 pairs of Polk Audio DB-6500 component speakers in my '91 sedan - one pair in the stock location in the rear deck (with the tweeters attached to the rear roof pillars) and the other pair in a set of Q-logic custom kick panels - these are really sweet speakers for the price, BUT....
a) you really need an amplifier,because just the head-unit won't do them justice; and...
b) there isn't a whole lot going on bass-wise, so you'll want a subwoofer (w/amplifier) for the low frequencies.
