Sub feedback

Sub feedback
So I just installed a couple 12 inch premier subs in a bandpass box with a premier amp in my '06. Trouble is, when the music isn't playing, I get major feedback in the subs. I'm pretty sure it's either the fact that my rear speakers are not shielded, or the fact that the trunk lid is not lined, but is just bare metal. Does anyone know of any easy way to eliminate the feedback without spending mucho money on dynamat?

RE: Sub feedback
Yeah, the noise is coming from the subs... I figured dynamat might kill the electro-magnety thing I might have going on... The subs are spliced off the rear speakers... I know... not the best idea, but that's how it is right now.

RE: Sub feedback
Define "feedback".
Is it a hum youre getting even when the music is off but the amp is on?
If so, does it change pitch with engine RPM's?
How do you have things set up? Is the Premier amp running the subs only? If so, what amp is it?
My first guess is that youve got the gain cranked to the moon and the amp youre pushing the guts out of the amp. Make sure the gain is NO HIGHER than the noon position.

RE: Sub feedback
I fixed the problem yesterday... It was the gain... But it really wasn't set very high... As of now, it's well below the "normal" tick in the dial. It still puts out pleeeenty of sound, as the sub and amp are some of the best on the market... (Got 'em for free from my bro-in-law), but now without any feedback. Thanks for all the support and help guys, I appreciate it.
