what amp to get for my subs
i just bought a pair of alpine type r 12 inch 4 ohm subs. i was planning on buying a soundstream pca 1500 amp since i like the soundstream i have powering my speakers. What other amps would be better at powering the type r`s. i want to get a high quality signal and alot of power from the amp. thanks

i agree with 19accord97, it does depend on you but if you want a top of the line amp i would reccomend rockford fosqate. they are priced high but a great amp. i went with an infinity reference series 1800w for about $350. i love it. the rockford would be at least $600 for the same wattage.

Soundstream makes good amps and I prefer to have all my amps match so I would recommend the Soundstream.
The best brands are Xtant, Audison, Zapco, Sinfoni and Tru Tech among others but they also cost $1000+.
Rockford Fosgate, MTX andCrossfire make powerhouse amps that far exceed their power ratings but do tend to have noise issues but unless youre planning on competing in SQ competitions, they wont be a problem. My Crossfires have a wicked turn off thump that costs me a point in SQ judging every show so they will soon be upgraded.
Alpine, Polk Audio, JBL also make nice stuff.
The main thing to look for in an amp is power, budget and built quality.
