Want an easy-to-use Car Stereo with CarPlay for my Honda Accord 2009 [DIY]
I have a Honda Accord 2009, honestly I am not so satisfied with the car radio come with it. It is powerless compared to my mobile phone.
So when driving, I mainly used my mobile phone for navigating and listening to music.
This is really not safe. so I am thinking about upgrading my car stereo so that I can connect my phone to it and get the most out of my mobile phone.
I don't want a universal car stereo which may have a lot of hassles to install with extra faceplate and accessories from Pioneer or Boss.
The Xtrons PST90ACH seems a great choice for me as it has the car auto play feature and it fit my vehicle model, meaning I don't need to buy any other extra accessories. Anyone have used Xtrons before and is it easy enough to DIY install the radio by myself? What do you think about
this brand? Are there other brands of car stereo you recommended?

That's the China brand some purchase and get rid of quick. I don't know the reason why. I would assume it doesn't work as it should. If I were you I would spend the money on getting something more proven.
I had 2 units from XTRONS, the previous one was non Android unit, it has been working for 3 years, I could not claim warranty. Got an Android one from eBay, looked well made, and came with plenty of interconnect cables, been working fine, overall I was very satisfied with it, it is much more I would expect for the money. Unfortunately, it lasted for 9 months and stop working, I contacted XTRONS support, they were very helpful and arranged the return for a replacement very fast. Personally, I will stay with the Chinese brands, similar units from Pioneer or Kenwood can cost about $1000, with even less features, and no one can guarantee they won’t get faulty. The in car stereos have been upgrading very fast, I would like to spend less money but get more experiences.
I have an Xtrons Android unit sitting in my basement that was installed in a 2017 Malibu for about 2 hours. The unit was noisy (in the audio output) with problematic screen controls (lags, misreads). I had a few hours of bench testing prior and post install to verify the unit was the problem and not the install/car. A lot of features but cheaper than it should cost to get the features with good quality. A Kenwood unit with Android Auto is in the Malibu now. You can't expect much from the cheap head unit market for audio amplification.
@Derionna which one did you choose? Would you recommend it?
Sorry for being off-topic. I'm looking for a good stereo and can't make my mind up which one is the best.
There are so many aftermarket stereos that it's hard to find a good one. Many of them have one digit difference in their name. Anyways I've been reading reviews on the nets and they are all hype. Most of them downplay the negatives and hype features like 7" as if it would be that important. I've found a different blog and I've set my heart on the alpine w650. The thing I liked about this blog is that it says it how it is. No sugar coating no BS. This blog review is a bit critical. It has highlighted some flaws that put me on the fence. What do you say?
Any tips?
