Default Wiring.

So I should be getting my JL 13W7 next week. I already got the sub box. I was wondering if there is a certain way I should wire everything up. With my older subs, i just plugged everything in without really thinking about it.

But is there is particular way i should wire everything up to increase sound quality/performance?

Old set up.
-Postive wire from battery to capacitor
-Positive wire from capactior to amp
-Ground from car to capacitor, capacitor to amp
-Speaker wires, etc.

Theres a fuse between the battery and the capacitor and another fuse between the capacitor and amp (to protect the amp?) I want to make sure everything is nice and safe especially for the JL 1000/1 amp lol

Advice is appreciated. thanks in advance.

I think its best to have a ground wire directly from the amp to the ground instead of going to the caps ground. That is only my opinioin and may be just fine to ground the amp at the cap. I hope you did the big three wire upgrade, and at least upgrade your battery but you could use a H.O alt.

I agree, but I would get rid of the cap(they don't work andr a waste of money) just get a second high capacity sealedbatt. That's my 2 cents andwhat I will be running when I get finished with my system.

It would be a bigger deal if you had more than one sub to work with so you could mess with the resistance and what not, but for you it should all just be plug and play. I don't have a cap on my system, but then again I don't really need one. IMO anything under 5 farads isn't going to do much for you.
