Hi all. First off, I am new to this group so please forgive me for asking this question if it has been asked already.

I have a 2006 Honda Accord EX-L I purchased in June. I went to inspect the interior to make sure there were no blemishes or anything like that. On the drivers seat, I noticed a blackness to the leather near the bottom of the seat. It was located on the seat back as well, the sides that give lateral and a bit on the seat itself. I have used Weiman's leather wipes, Blue Magic and even saddle soap to try and remove the "blackness" from the leather. Nothing is working.

Does anyone have any idea on how to remove this?

Any help would be appreciated.

R-Texas - to be honest, can't be 100% sure of anything. The night we picked it up and did the paperwork, it was taking longer than we thought and my wife had to get home for a test the next morning.
I do recall that there was a quality issue regarding the hood. There was a scuff on the hood as well as some residue from the wrapping material they used to surround the car in transit to the dealership. That was taken care of pretty quickly.
I am afraid to try anything else on the upholstery.

Since it's brand spanking new take it back to them and see if they will try to assist.

 

I am taking it back today after work. My guess is they will take to their detailing area and take care of it.
They have been good and fair and have had no problems with them so far.

I use soapy water and a microfiber towell to clean my leather seats. works wonders....I then use a leather conditioner to keep it lookin' good

 

I have had leather for years in my cars and trucks and even with all my cleaning and conditioning, it has always looked bad after 6 or 7 years BUT...the other day I had a warranty claim on my couch at home. I had a long talk with the tech while he was working on th couch fixing scratches and I asked what the best way was to care for it since he said the cracks come for skin oils on the leather. He said to use Woolite mixed with water and spray and wipe.
Well went to clean the leather in my 06 Accord today and used the Woolite and guess what. It came out beautiful and took the dirt right off. Woolite is gentler then regular soap so it also doesn't dry out the leather. Then just use a good conditioner to keep it soft.

that's a great suggestion thanks for the input and welcome to the forum.... I have leather in my car now (first time I've ever had leather seats) and that makes sense to use a genlter detergent....
