Default Leather??

I'll bet RTexasF knows some secret. That Legend (I used for before/after on the Wet Paint) is in the process of a complete interior cleaning/overhaul. I am down to pretty much the seats. I managed to get my hands on a couple front seats in excellent condition (only $130 for both ), but the back seat isn't too great. The fronts were crappy and had no hope.

Question is, I need to get that back seat looking good. It has one little tear (which I plan to leave alone). The rest of the seat isn't bad but it is pretty dirty and needs conditioning. What is the secret to fix it. It has some cracking but it is very minor and there are some hard spots. But overall for 16 years old it isn't bad.

That Leatherique stuff looks pretty cool, I don't love the price but if it works then it is worth it. You have or know of any before/after pics?? They didn't have much by way of pics on their site.

I agree.....the site sucks, very poorly done. Several pro detailers swear that the stuff is the best thing since printed money, though I have not used it. A very good tip was given that Woolite & water works very well as far as cleaning leather goes.

My dad was cleaning on the car some.....he used Simple Green on it. I am sure that is bad for the leather but it didn't even get it clean, so I can probably give up on the cleaning. Maybe just the reconditioning will help.

I would consider pulling the seat covers off and taking them to a local leather shop to have them recondition the leather. That small tear will have to be repaired otherwise it will get larger over time........
