Default windows not working!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i have a small problem. i have a window that when rolled up or down makes a grinding and the window wont roll up right, then today the driver side did the same thing. does this sound like the gear box (if there is one) or the motor?

it's probably the window regulator (actuator?).

I would ALMOST be willing to bet that it's the wire that the motor runs to get the track up/down. That wire slowly frays and then it makes a grinding noise when it goes through the motor. I had this EXACT same thing happen to me. I ordered a new motor/regulator and it was fixed. Here's the write up I did to fix it.

I would go with what both Falkore24 and sirnasty say.

and for the guy that's saying his are hard to roll up/down.....I have a write up on here aout cleaning those window tracks because it sounds like you really need to get that done also......quite simple and easy to do but works wonders on them windows

I'd look it up but computer is BYE BYE so doing this through a PDA and its a pain to use.
