01 accord - come and brain storm with me
So i own a 01 accord coupe 4cyl... and let me tell you... its not a "slow" car.. i mean compared to a corvette or viper... well yea it is but ive raced mazda 6's, C class mercedes, bmw 3 series, nissan altima 3.5 v6... and the slow 2.5s lol
i took the mazda from the go and just left em in the dust, the mercedes was a really close race i would win when their tans shifted coz vtec i think then i would shift and theyd catch up and it went on like that... the 3 series was an older 80s model and i raped it lol
recently i raced a 2.5 altima and like the mazda 6 it just couldnt hang with the 2.3 f23
THEN.... i was being tail gated by this other altima... and me thinking it was another POS 2.5 decided to race it when he pulled up on the side at a red light....
I RAPED HIM on 1st and 2nd gear THEN..... 3rd gear came and he just flew away
MY QUESTION TO YOU ALL:
why the hell does 3rd gear have to be so gay.... and can i swap the trans or modify it so it can have a shorter 3rd and 4rth gear?
or should i just save up for a h22 swap?

Very simple. 1st & 2nd are torque gears, 3rd & 4th are drive gears and 5th is overdrive. Next time, redline 2nd or turbo that bad boy!
Turbo is more cost effective for a DD or a race car since you already have the engine ..... plus, the F23 has a good lower end, better sleeves than the H22. Ideal would be to take the H22 or 23 head (depends on if you want NA or FI) and use the F23 lower half.
I don't remember which H is the non-vtec, but that head and turbo on an F23 block would be pretty sick without needing the lower half built. If you are going to build the engine anyway, the best block would be one of the older H22's that had a closed deck.

i guess to make things short i was looking for maybee a tranny swap or a machine shop that can make my 3rd and 4rth gears deploy more performance ....
.....u know.. like changing ratios n stuff like that....
....also about the f23 w/h22 head... heard its kind of a pain and not worth all the money and time that can be potentially invested...
