Default 01' Accord. Really need your help!

My "maintenance required" light came on so i had it checked. I was give the code '1259' 'security conductor'. So i called the dealership and the said it could either be the vtec cylinder or vtec oil something. I know nothing about cars and can't trust the dealership. Does anyone know what this might be and what can be done? thank you for reading.

P1259 is a VTEC system malfunction.

1. Top off the oil, low oil = low oil pressure = no VTEC
2. You can take the screen off the VTEC oil sending solenoid gizmo and clean it.

Depends on the year/engine/trim.
