Default 07 accord strong vibration at idle

Hey everyone I have a 07 accord 2.4L automatic. And I've noticed lately more so when waiting at a light the car will do a strong vibration almost like a shutter and can feel it from the whole front of the car it's almost like it has a miniature stroke for a second haha. Sometimes if it's strong it will move the rpm a bit but not usually. I've inspected and cleaned throttle body and all that, been good on maintenance. Has new battery and alternator. Car is at 220000km now so getting up there. Is this a possibly timing issue ? I'm concerned it's just going to stall out one day. Anyone ever get the random shake or shudder? Happens with or without ac on to doesn't matter or the heat. Any input I'd appreciate it. Cheers guys !

That's hard to diagnose without a code. I would not put any money into it until one pops up. If you know to to make or have a smoke machine you can try a smoke test. I assume you've never changed the timing chain on it since it's lifetime. I changed mine before I hit 200k because I just didn't feel comfortable not getting it replaced. I wouldn't say it's a timing issue or it would be constant or not start at all.

If it happens regularly, see if you can watch the engine while someone sits in the drivers seat holding the brakes with the car in gear.

I know you said it doesn't matter with AC or not, but check to see if it coincides with the AC compressor clutch engaging. The AC will run (without being switched on) if you have any air directed onto the windshield.

Or maybe you can see something else happening at the same time to give a clue about what's going on.

How many miles are on the spark plugs? Some people have seen "counterfeit" NGK plugs that don't work so well.

Ok i will try that out. I just recently did the plugs there ngk just not the high end ones that are like 15 bucks each. It's did this weird shudder even before I changed them. Only code that it throws once in awhile the check engine light will come on then go away for 02 sensor. Think that' may be it ?

Not from an O2 sensor you wouldn't get that. Do you remember the actual code?

Other than a partially clogged injector, failing fuel pump (not likely) I can't think of anything g else. or failing PCV. It could be a plethora of things honestly. Have you tried some good cleaner like Red Line SL1. That's always my go to when I have no code or air leaks and the engine is running rough.

Hmmm I see. I should run some injector cleaner throughthrough of gas. Never heard of redline before I'm up in Canada where we don't have some of the stuff the US has. I did run seafoan through the system helped a little. Just bugs me this shudder it gives off to me it seems like a fuel problem I don't know. I guess run it till it breaks

What NGK plugs did you use? I'm not sure what your car calls for.

Have you taken off the air duct & looked into the throttle body? If the PCV system isn't working well, it can build up oily gunk in the throttle body & intake manifold. Maybe that needs to be cleaned out?
