Lightbulb 1991 crankshaft questions

I have a 91 ex f22a1 manual. My crankshafts teeth got stripped out... So im heading to the salvage yard this weekend. And they have 91-93 accords there, most of them are automatics. I was wondering if I pull one of those out well they fit into MY MT accord? since im gonna have to rip my motor apart are there any suggestions on what else I should replace we hile Im gonna have it out. This gonna be my first time im gonna go DEEP in a car. Not scared, mostly excited. Cant gain experience with clean hands.

I'm not sure what you mean by crankshaft teeth. Do you mean the gear on the front where the timing belt goes?

Is the keyway that holds the timing belt drive sprocket to the crankshaft stripped? If yes, you may need a new engine. A very skillful and determined welder might be able to build/grind a new keyway.

If this is case, perhaps on the woodruff key stripped. Note, this allows timing to be lost and valve damage in cylinder head is likely.

good luck

Yeah the part where the keyway is placed is stripped... I only started when I changed my broken timing belt, thats wh er n I noticed four exhast valves were bent. So I replaced them and havent tried to crank it over. It only ran fir no more than five mins.

all h23/f22 crankshafts and gears are ALL the same. Does not matter if its auto or 5 speed...they are ALL the same.
If it's the keyway like Texas stated then you will need a new crank shaft. I wound not trust welding or any other modifications since the cranks are balanced. You WILL unbalance the crank and it's not worth it in this case to TRY and go the easy way out. Better off swapping out cranks or replacing your engine.
If you need a new crankshaft I can sell you one of mine. I have a f22 crank that needs one of the mains freshened up from spinning a rod bering OR I can sell you one that has nothing wrong with it. I just have to pull it out of my f22 engine. Let me know by PM if you want it or not.
