Hi All,

I'm new to this forum and looking to purchase a 2000 Honda Accord EX Coupe V6. Currently it has 80K miles on it and its going for $7,999. The Carfax report is coming up clean with only 1 owner. Do you think this is a good buy? How long can these engines last if well maintained. Any help would be appreciated.

I can't comment on the price but the mileage is reasonable for that age. A well-maintained Honda engine should easily last for a couple of hundred thousand miles and possibly more.

Get a mechanic to look at the car before you buy it, and if he thinks it's solid, and the price seems fair, go for it.

 

The engine if taken care of will last you very long time, My dad car is a 1998 sedan v6. Its running really strong and has 150,000. The automtaic tranny on the other hand isnt very good at all. You can aspect problems with the transmission at around 110,000miles if here hasnt got a rebuilt one yet. otherwise its a great engine, i love the smoothness of the v6 and the more avaible torque mouch more the the 4cylinder.
