If you increase the displacement of your engine (via longer stroke) it will take in more fuel and air, so would very likely use more fuel per mile.

 

It's not so much the stroker kit that does it. It's what you do with your right foot after it's installed. That's what uses more gas.

 

well, how about under normal driving conditions?

 

It still takes the same amount of power to push the car down the road. So you'll usea little bit less throttle to drive the same speed. That's not perfect compensation, so you'll use a LITTLE more gas. But not as much as you'd expect by the proportion of displacement increase.

But'normal' driving includes plenty ofopportunity to accelerate... You won't hold back just because your car used to be less powerful. You probably aren't gonna go to the work of a stroker kit & then install a restrictor plate to put you back to the same horsepower.

I didn't even realize you could get a stroker kit for our engines. Or are you talking about a custom job?

 

to my knowledge only h22's have a stroker kit

 

He has a 91 accord, he can use the H23 crank/rods or 98 and older H22 crank with the 50mm main journals.
