Default 2004 exl v6 auto trans fail! Help!

Hey guys,

Well as the title says, my transmission went south and now I'm stuck having to pony up for a new or rebuilt trans. So my question to everyone is which route should I go? new, rebuilt, I have heard that Honda has done goodwill replacements or even helping with bill. I'm just checking what route is the most reliable and economical. I am not the original owner of the car. I bought it with about 110k on the clock and its always had this shutter between 1800-2000 RPM. it seemed like it was getting worse or I was just getting tired of it, but I had it serviced a couple of months ago and now it takes a dump on me. When it finally went out I was on a road trip and when on the freeway it was fine but when I got into stop and go traffic is when it got angry and started slipping, bucking, and what seemed like braking on its own, maybe it was downshifting on its own way before it should, I don't know.
So what do you guys suggest?? Thanks in advance.

Richard.

Haven't heard of too many 7th gens having issues with auto trans.

You should call around and price out the options and warranty from a few places then go from there.
