Default 2006 Accord Spark Plugs

Have 166,000 miles on 2006 Accord v6's original plugs. Engine runs great and still gets in excess of 28 mpg on the road. Should plugs be changed even if running good? What hazards exist in removing? Any thoughts appreciated.

The biggest issue in removing plugs which have been in the heads for so many miles and years is stripping out the threads while removing the plugs. Good mechanics typically use a small impact wrench for plug removal; the impact instantly breaks the bond between the threads of the plug and the head and spins out the plug harmlessly. Needless to say, you put the new plugs in by hand; no impact wrench need apply.
