2008 Accord V6 noise issue
I've got 2008 V6 accord.
Since the first day I drove the car, I've noticed sound coming from engine..... well it sounds like belt or other......
Like Tic...Tic...Tic.... syncronizing with belt sound....
I could hear it only when I stop and idling.
It sounds louder when it's on "D", minor when it's on "N".
Dealer told me it's normal and sound will fade after I drive certain miles. maybe 2,000.....or 3,000
It's been 3,000 miles on it now and it still sounds.
Last week my buddy sitting next to me asked "Is it a diesel engine?" ..... ^^::: NO! It's not!!!
Tech told me engine & trans mounting is OK....since it's new...
I've drove other 2008 accord but it don't sound like mine. Mine's alot louder!
Can anybody give me an idea where to look for to fix this problem???
Safe driving!!!

RE: 2008 Accord V6 noise issue
i heard the same comment on my passport, but that is due to the hydraulic lifters, and gets much louder with engine load. I have always heard that type of sound with my hondas, and I havent much worried about it.

love that sound! cant believe you dont. let me guess. you hear it after you let it rip a few times right? after you bring the hot cam online, you Will notice some slack in the valve train from the valves now not being lifted as high off the deck. two ways to look at it. one is that you have some sort of "problem", or two, you now have an engine that is just begging to be pushed past 5k again .
