Love to help but I'm not the best expert on Accords back that far.
(yes I AM that old, but I didn't have Accords back then).

Besides I much prefer answering in the forum so it helps other people too.

I just saw a thread where someone's engine stalled just as it reached a similar RPM. Turned out there was red dust inside the distributor. Cleaned it up & it ran OK. But... that red dust means his distributor bearing was shot.

Is it carburatorated or fuel injected? How hard are you accelerating?

I need you to describe it better.

interesting!!

Have you pulled the codes yet? Do you have a book (shop manual) for the car? If not, you need to first go to the parts store and buy yourself a manual, then pull the trouble codes.

Let me know.

Try tuning it up. Plugs, wires, fuel filter, egr valve, etc.

Always start with the cheapest things first. A good, full tune up might solve your problem (keywords being FULL tune up) and even if that doesn't fix it, you won't be out any money, since the car most likely needs it anyway, plus I'm pretty sure that should fix your issue. You either have a clogged fuel filter, or clogged injectors or something stupid.

Do a top to bottom tune up and let me know if that does it for you.
