Hi everyone !

Just joined today after picking up a 97 Accord EX . Never owned a Honda before , but after a lot research decided that the 97 accord was a great deal and even more important very reliable . I have 84000 kms (50000 mi) on it with (I suspect ) the original belt. I will get the belt changed next week (had a previous bad experience with a 91 VW Passat timing belt=2000$) . My question is: should I replace the water pump also ?
Please consider mileage , age and climate conditions.(southern Lake Erie area)
Also , should I focus on any other specific maintenance issues at this time ?
Previous owner had annual servicing done until 2004 by the dealer.

change all wearable parts when you change the belt

water punp
timing belt
tensioner
drive belts


and if not installed install the blanace shaft seal retainer

if car has not had a service since 04 ,,i would do a major service

plugs,NGK ZFR5F-11 ,, Honda spark plug wires , cap + rotor if still the original, fuel+ air filter, oil and filter, valve adjustment.replace the upper spark plug tube seals, the 4 seals located underneath ( inside ) the valve cover , tranny fluid if AT use Honda ATF-Z1 , if manual tranny 10w-30 engine oil , tire rotation.
