auto engine in a manual accord
hello everybody,
i have a 1992 accord ex, 5 speed with about 220,000 miles.
it is leaking and have a lot of miles and i would like to get the engine rebuilt or whatever is cheaper (like buying aused engine) for me at the moment.
Does anyone know if I can put an automatic engine in my manual honda if i do decide to buy a used engine. My reason for asking this is the autos prob have less wear on it than the manuals.
Tried searching for this but could not find anything, all i have found is conversion from an auto to a manual.

Uhm... There is'nt really such a thing called "automatic" engine. If the engine is the same size as your previous one then it should bolt right up, but then again, not every car is the same, and some adjustment i.e. flywheels, bolts etc...

Crankshaft is the same, but the bolts for the flywheel are different than the bolts for the auto flexplate.
The rear engine mount may be different too, but Im not sure?
Its not a dum question, either. Some cars (probably not Accords) use a different camshaft, or different ECU map when they come from an automatic car.I dont think Honda does that, but I do think theres a jumper in the ECU that you have to either remove or install...
ps... Just noticed its your first post. WELCOME!
