Default BEEF UP F22 OR H22

HI EVERYBODY. I WANTED TO KNOW IF IT WOULD BE BETTER IF I GOT AN F22 ENGINE BEEFED UP OR JUST WENT AHEAD AN GOT A H22 SWAP. I AM LOOKING TO TURBO MY RIDE AND I KNOW THAT THE F22 COMPRESSION IS LOW SO I CAN RUN A BIGGER TURBO. WHICH WOULD BE MORE EXPENSIVE AND WOULD AN F22 EVER GET AS MANY PONIES AS THE H22? THANKS

If I remember correctly mbo ( a user on here) has a f22 with a turbo and is pushing about 225 hp with 8 psi. so yeah you can get the same amount of horsepower, if you wanted to go with a turbo I'd say that the f22 accepts them a little better and the h22 makes a better Naturally Aspirated engine...

You have to keep in mind that if you choose an h22 there is only so much you can to before you need to resleeve the engine. h22 have frm cylinder walls which doesnt handle the piston expanding from heat too well, so you will eventually have problems the more work you have done on an h22, the f22 has iron cylinder walls which will will provide you more upgradeablility. But depending on how much hp you want you will have to sleeve the engine as well.

Ive seen h22 swaps run more then doing a turbo. getting a t3/t04 turbo will help you get more then a 200hp gain considering those can run up to 25psi and then some....... but running that high means engine work

I got my 2nd F22 for 100 bucks (from a member of this board actually). I have to resleeve it and put forged internals and stainless valves in it anyway which is what one would have to do with the H to run more than 9 psi (safely).

H is more money (good luck finding one cheap) and you'll still gave tons of work to do to it.
The F has more torque (with boost involved anyway) and that is a good thing. I would go F. If you want to do a head swap, more power to you (literally).

And just an update, I turned it down to 6 PSI (on my stock F22) for now since my injectors are starting to die. I'll have my ECU chipped soon and I'll run the DSMs. Then it's 9 psi for me... It still eats Acura TL's with only 6 psi. [8D]

I pieced my turbo kit together for $1500.

TL's are pretty quick cars. Not super fast, but they hold their own out there in their class and all.

As soon as I can get enough fuel in their safely, I'm turning the boost up and taking it to the drag strip. I still need to re-do the exhaust too. It's a 3 in d-pipe into the OEM exhaust. Very poor design on my part.

YOU GUYS SURE DO KNOW YOUR STUFF UP HERE. THE INFO AND MEMBERS HERE HAVE BEEN VERY HELPFUL IN MY QUESTIONS. IM REALLY EXCITED TO HAVE THIS ACCORD. MY POPS HAD IT FOR ABOUT THREE YEARS AND I USED TO SIT INSIDE IT AND PRETEND I KNEW HOW TO DRIVE A STICK SHIFT,LOL. HE SAID HE WOULD NEVER SELL IT. NOW I HAVE IT AND LOVING EVERY DRIVE. BY THE WAY, HOW MUCH $$$$ HAVE YOU PUT INTO YOUR ENGINE MBO? I'M NOT FAMILIAR WITH THINGS LIKE SLEEVING, BORING, AND STROKING SO IM GOING TO HAVE TO GO TO A SHOP TO GET THAT STUFF DONE.
