Default Bogs down

I have a 99 Accord Ex . When I punch the throttle it's like you are putting on the brakes. It chokes and sputters. Back off and it's fine. As long as you ease into the throttle it accelerates just fine , it's when you punch it to pass it acts like your putting on the brakes and sputters, but not all the time. I just replaced the fuel pump, that was a waste of money, well maybe not as the car has 225,000 miles on it and I don't believe it has ever been changed. Any ideas on where to look now ? I've got the Haynes book and I can't find that there is a fuel filter inline anywhere, I thought there was always a fuel filter inline. I replaced the one on the fuel pump but is that the only one? As you can tell I'm not a great mechanic. Need some help . Thank you. Driving me nuts !

The mesh screen in the tank is the only fuel filter. And its not a routine replacement. Only needed when you have fuel pressure problems as indicated by actuallymeasuring fuel pressure.
