can i put a 2.3l vtec in a 1988 automatic accord??

Default can i put a 2.3l vtec in a 1988 automatic accord??
hey i have a 88 a accord the motor is going out rod knocks oil leak whole ten yards, i was looking at the 2.3lvtecs but my car is an auto so im not sure if they work withthe auto matic what do you think the best engine is i should put into it? that will work?

You probably can't put a F23 or F series engine in; at least not easily or economically.
