Default Check Engine Light

I had some issues today with my 2000 honda accord coupe EX V-6. When i went to start it wouldn't start without my foot on the gas to shoot the RMP's up when it did. And during that 3-4 times trying it my check engine came on.

I took it to Advanced and they said the code read P1399 and had about 3 mis fire codes also.

What can be causing this???

I called my local Honda Dealer and they said it can be a number of things from bad spark plugs to a computer or even a loose plug wire.

Can anyone help??

Thanks in advance for replys!!

Well... LOTS of things can cause that. But they mentioned a couple likely suspects.

Are you spark plugs old (age & miles)? What brand?
Are any of your plugs wires loose?

Well I changed the plugs about 10k ago and I can't remember brand but they were top of the line platiunm ones. And the plug wires are like caps with allen bolts in them I don't think they can come loose.

Oh that's right, you have individual coils. No plug wires. Take the coils off of the sparkplugs & look for any crud, or anything unusual like burn marks. Any oil down in the sparkplug holes?

Hondas don't like Bosch spark plugs, that's why I asked.

My error-code list doesn't have P1399 but my list doesn't cover all the V-6 stuff. Not sure what it really means.
