Question Engine/ throttle

Guru's
My car is 99 with the 4cyl motor. But driving it has issues. The throttle usage is like it's gargles ? Any gear. If I'm not flat on it it want to gargle on light push of the pedal or 50% push.

Wondering if this is fix I can do or it's going to require the shop to repair and the ball park cost you feel it should be also. ??

You need to provide a better description.

Is engine hard to start? Hesitates when you try to accelerate? Misses, rough running?

Is Check Engine Light on? If yes, go to Autozone, et al and get codes.

good luck

Engine starts is fine. Lil hesitates but gargles as you give it has unless you punch it. No missing runs good. Great gas mileage. No check engine light. But might have a lifter or value needing adjusting. Forgot about getting the codes so ill try that also.

TPS is a possibility.

Your description indicates further diagnosis is necessary to isolate problem.

Try the TPS diagnostics and see if there's a problem there.

Also suggest disabling the EGR valve by removing the vacuum actuation line to the EGR valve and plugging temporrily. If this eliminates problem, then blockage of EGR passages in intake manifold may be the problem.

good luck
