Default F20B in 94 accord

First off I would like to do a engine swap in my 94 accord. I have the F22b right now. Should I do a h22 swap or should I go f20b? If I go f20 would I work with a f22 transmission?

both h22 and f20b will work with your f22 trans. But your better off with the h22/f20b trans b/c they have shorter gear ratio. Your also better off with a h22 swap. It's hard to find replacement parts for a f20b since that engine was not in any of our US Hondas. Now the h22 on the other had was all over the states. So much bigger market for parts...replacement or performance.

I agree with G22 on all his points, and i have had both an H22 and F20B.

Thanks for the input. I didnt realize how difficult it could be with the f20b. Now next question. If I do The h22 swap should I go all motor or turbo it? I'm in the military and I do need to drive everyday.

Having had H22s, F22s, and F20bs, I would just turbo your stock engine. Can easily and reliably make more power than an H22. Also if it blows(which it is a pretty strong engine) they are pretty cheap to replace.

turboing a H22 is a real crap shoot dude. they arent meant to take boost with the compression ratio it has. You might be able to push 5-6psi without having any real problems. if I were you, i'd get a f22a and turbo it. best flowing head next to the s2000 motor and you can boost the **** out of it, its compression ratio is really low.

Boosting a h22 is not really a crap shoot. It's more acceptable in STOCK form to go all motor. But there is a option of going turbo without sleeving the block. Mahle makes a set of pistons (Mahle Gold’s) that works with the FRM sleeves they lower the c/r so you can raise the boost levels. You also could run meth/water injection on stock c/r to be able to raise the boost levels and keep your pre detonation down. (cost of meth kit vs. Mahle pistons are just about the same)not including the labor)
Now the f22 engines are cheaper to turbo. Like Rice said...if you blow it up you snag another one for dirt cheap. They make good power for the price. The f22 engines are your bang for buck turbo engine for around 250-300hp range.
