H22 head onto F22 block

H22 head onto F22 block
Had some ask why I dont just swap a h22 head onto my f22 block. Said I would get super high compression and about 180-195 to the wheels
What are the pros and cons of this type of hybrid build? Any possibilities of future boost? Or is compression going to be a prob?
What are the parts needed besides the head and ECM, fuel rail, im, etc

as far as i can tell you should use a h22 headgasket and headstuds. as far as a bump in compression goes im not sure you will get much if any...altho I have not done this yet so someone with exp doing that swap should speak up about now..

ok well doing a g22 swap is not easy. I know from experience. It's not worth the hassle. If your plan is a cheap turbo build this is the way to go. But don't expect it to last long maybe 6-12months if your easy on it...and who is easy on a turbo car. NO one.
LOL no you lose compression when doing this swap and you MIGHT gain 5hp for $300-400 head swap.... You go from 8:8:1 to 8:2:1 which is great for turbo…but crap for all motor. Also you have to know that the red line is much shorter than the h22 so you will not get the full potential of the cams or vtec.
If you have all the parts laying around like I did then go for it. But use this build for ONLY a "fun" car. Daily driving this build will cost you more money than anything.
But if you DEAD set on this swap go over to cb7tuner.com and read. They have ALL of the info you need and then some. Few guys on the site are even running g22 swaps in their cb7s.

why do you give the g22 such a short life expectency? if you were to use a quality head gasket and arp studs what is prone to failure? Another question is you say it costs more money to dd the g22 than its worth, does your mpg drop in such a swap? My plan is to place a small turbo on my non-vtec g22 build using a f22b2 block and a h22a3 head. I just happen to have the parts exept turbo and engine management at this point. I would be happy with a useble ~250bhp in my dd and expect the same reliablity as i have now with my stock f22b2 with lots of bolt-ons. Is this a far fetched idea? didnt mean to thread jack..

Well 1st off you will need to find a h22 crank gear. Not easy to find. Then you need to block off the two oil drain portsin the head. Either by slaming a freeze plug then use honda bond to seal it. At that might last for a few months. Or you can weld them shut. The tje head isp only good for a f22 block. Can never put the head back on a h block. Also you have a 87mm bore head on a 85mm bore block. That will create hot spots and will cause short life span. Go search cb7tuner.com on this subject more than enough info for you to read

Also the a h22a3 is a vtec head. You will need a custom head gaskit a f23 head gaskit wont do the job very long. Lost of research you will need to do before just jumping into this swap. There is lots of headaches you will come across
