Default h22 swap into a 98 accord (good deal?)

I have a 98 4cyl automatic accord, A salvage shop told me they can do a h22 swap and convert it to a 5 speed accord tranny for 2500 plus tax. Let me know if you think it's a good deal.

very cheap..... check the guy's rep around.... just make sure he gets it right.... H22need to have some changes in the timing belt when transferred to an accord..... at least that's what i heard and read in a site..... but looks cheap! i would do it....

well i haven't seen one of their engine swaps firsthand, but they are the biggest salvage yard in the area and on their sign they say they warrant allenginesfor 3years,unlimited miles. I called a custom engine shop today and the guy there was saying 4800-5500 ballpark figure, I know the engines that place has are probably low mile import engines in better condition, but thats a big difference in price.

A salvage yard said they'd swap it for you? Eh...I dunno about that. But 4200-5000 for a full swap from a performance shop is about right.

That is pretty cheap, but I wouldn't really trust it imo. I'd do a hell of an amount of research on the people doing the work before getting it done. I know it sounds funny researching them but I'd try to see the others cars that they did work on and see their work.

Hey i decided to do the swap, the guy seems really knowledgeable about the h22, He has a prelude and talked to me for half an hour about different ways to tweak it for. So anyway as soon as i made the deposit i remembered about my immoblizer, ive heard different ways on how to deal with this problem. So my main question is can someone tell me how they dealt with the situation.

Show us some pics when you get it done and tell us about your experience. It's one hell of an experience too.
