Hi, I was never really into building an engine before then once I got my accord everything changed.

I was doing some research and I would like to build my stock f22a1.
I saw that an h23a1 intake will fit to a f22a1 head.
I was just wondering if the intake HAS to be ported or can I just put it on ?
What are the benefits to a custom ported intake manifold ?
