just curious guys, but i noticed that my car (although it has decent power), doesnt really get up and go till around 5k+ & i was wondering if you guys could help me figure out some things i could do to get up to such an rpm range quicker? thanks!

turbo, lighter flywheel, header, intake, exhaust, underdrive pulleys, true time gear, chip, larger throttle body, cam, intake manifold, port and polish head, stroker crank, larger pistons, increased quench area in the combustion chamber, larger injectors, remove weight from the car itself.

 

changing the chip to have vtec kick in at 1000rpms and give up on ever having gas economy again. lol

 

haha thanks for the advice ls, but i might as well go buy a fiero and put a 350 in it lol.

not worth it to me-no offense but i havent spent 2000 on buying a car in the first place, let alone am i gonna spend that to turbo one. thanks for the advice though, guys.

you can get an old car and build that up for cheaper then most cars, but a fiero car is a bit of a wanabie car.
Go a little more exotic..... lotus esprit turbo ^^ one from 13 years ago still costs 30grand lol

and if you havent spent 2000 on buying a car..... you might want to question the quality of some of the cars that youve bought.

And you could most likely find a turbo setup for cheaper if you do major hunting at the local junk yards....


side note, my turbo bill so far is 1400, just need the down pipe which is going to be 250

 

haha all of my cars have had something wrong with them to make them that cheap, (usually high miles/old model/scratches/dents/parts needed), ive been pretty happy with every vehicle that ive owned (except the pathy, it was HORRIBLE on gas & power).

91 lumina-blown motor $200 lol
95 cavalier- 115k on it, lots of rust, $500
88 celica gt convert.- 206k, some rust/dents $1000
87 pathfinder- 186k large holes in the rear floor, exterior rust, motor ran like ****, $800
87 nismo hb 2wd- needed a paintjob/stereo 117k-$500
90 lumina- great car, loved everything about it, 120k had scratches-$500
95 ford taurus station wagon- total piece of ****, had for like 2 days-gift
96 lumina- ran great, awesome shape, 196k-$600
92 firebird needed body parts, paintjob, tuneup, hole in floor 116k $800
94 accord 2.2 vortec 114k needs paintjob, fenders are junk, 1 rust hole, many scratches/dents on one side-$500

i enjoyed em all except for the taurus & the pathy/firebird (pre-tune up/paintjob). im thinking about fixing up the honda so that it looks pristeen (sp?) and selling it because they go for like $2500 around here (great little cars).

not true, i probably would have killed my friends' vehicles with it, then sold it and bought something else (its fun to get something new lol).
