How does the Oil Life gauge work?

The maintenance minder runs off of milage ..... the newer oil monitor is more complex than that.

you think it's that complicated Jim? I would be surprised.
Saab & then GM is like that. I would be surprised if Honda was far behind.
You DO have to reset it, in both cases. Septimus primes story sounds like he didnt reset it after his first oil change, but DID reset it after the second??

I dont believe Honda or Saab/GM use actual sensors on the oil itself. But Ive heard that VW is doing that.
I did not do anything to it either time. I tried to reset it the first time, but it would not let me.

Oh well. I'll go update my sig now.

push the buttonand hold ituntil it starts to blink,release it and push it again holding the button in until it says 100%
