Default HP from a Throttle Body?

Would a throttle body make much difference in performance? I did a quick search but didn't find anything. From a brand like Edelbrock or BBK? If so, whould it matter what mm it is (like an Edelbrock is 70mm or 75mm)? Also my engine is J30A1 just to let you know. Thanks for any imput!

Not unless is combined with a cold air intake of some kind, since the stock air box is your main bottleneck.

You need some major modifications that make more power requiring more air than the stock TB can supply. I know a guy that just put a Bisimoto 2.2 reground cam in his F23 and he only now needs a TB and intake manifold.

It's really something you get if it's necessary, he's getting it so his power doesn't plateau at 4500 rpms.

The J30 throttlebody does not limit the max flow, so all you'd be doing is lessening your controlability.

if your not port matched for the (mm) sized TB then it's a pointless upgrade. Do your research and you see what I mean....Have a good one *thumbs up*

I had heard the same about port matching but found a s2k tb for real cheap and slapped it on my h22. I really didn't notice anything till I swapped back. I get +1 mpg and I kind feel slower at the to end. The only reason I went back to stock is because I wound up with a stupid loopy idle...

perceived power loss may only be from a poorly aligned tps. I'm idling at like 500 instead of the usual 9.

Speaking of Throttle Bodies, can you PnP those like you can cylinders?
