Default Lower mpg

i own a 94 f22b2 engine and i has been runnin great except for one lil problem now. im not getting enough mpg as i used to. im talkin like 4-5 mpg at least. i have noticed that my engine idle had been gettin lower(yes its a manual) also there has been more "black sut" on the exhaust pipe. also i dont know if this could help but i just put 18" enkei rims on there too. i went from 14 X 5.5 to 18 X 7.5 and my car raised about an inch too. could this factor in too????

I don't think so, but the "black sut" on the tip of the muffler means it's not burning the amount of fuel it should..... try changing the sparks and checking the spark plugs.... that might help....

The larger wheels will cause your odometer to falsely read that you have traveled fewer miles. This will lead to a false lowermpg calculation. It will also throw your speedometer out of whack. Right now your speedo will show you are going slower than you really are.

A friend of mine said that he corrected his with an Apexi Rev & Speed meter, but Apexi doesn't list this function so I'm not sure. He showed me a screen on it that allows a % adjustment of tire circumferance compared to stock, but I don't think that it has the connections to adjust the speedo readout. I'll get in touch with him and get back to you.

Just out of curiousity did you raise the car just so you could fit the tires under?

I just looked up the wiring diagram and it does have the connections to adjust the speed signal to the ECU, so I think that this would work for you. You should email Apexi to verify though.
