Default Motor Swap

I am currently looking to replace my motor. I have a Honda Accord EX Sedan with the 2.2L 5spd vtec(F22B).

So I have found a couple of places that will replace my stock motor with another one for $1350, parts and labor. Doesn't sound like a bad deal.

I'm wondering if you guys know/trust any shops to do motor swaps for the H22A. Also I know they make a V6 for my car but it comes with an auto-transmission. Have you heard of a manual transmission that will mate up to the V6? If not then I will more than likely go with the H22A.

Thanks for your time and responses.

What year is your Accord...I assume 1993-1997 (engine code). the V6 for your generation is nonVTEC and rare-ish. I would go with the H22a.

a location would help us locate a shop for you. the v6 for the 5th gen is worthless IMO. there is a manual tranny that will mate up with it, but you cant fit a v6 in a 4cyl engine bay so it doesnt matter anyways(v6 engine bay is 5 or 6 inches bigger i forgot the exact amount)

Yeah Gen5 V6 produces 170HP...while the H22a produces 190-220.

With commitment and the willing to work a lot, you can fit any engine in a car. It just takes calculations and patience.

Example: LS1 in a EK Civic Hatch dubbed "Civette"

ok i'm just saying do an assload of custom fab and cutting out vital components like fire walls and radiator supports to make a engine fit that will let you run .1 faster in the 1/4

Thanks for the input. I will do some more looking around for a reputable shop to do the work. That's too bad the V6 for the 94-95 Accord is non-Vtec and only about 30 more horses than the stock 4cyl. It's not a matter of life or death if I get this done right away. I would like to do it before the end of the year though.

Thanks again!!

Go the H22a route...you won't be disappointed. Or join the K revolution!
