Default need help

hi guys
I need your help
I got accord 92 exi and it seems that the last owner was not changing oil
the engine is very dirty from inside and the oil lamp sometimes flashing
I changed oil three times in three weeks and removed oil pan two times and cleaned & after 5 or 6 days the light is flashing again
what can I do or it's better to sell this car and how can i check the oil pump
thanks

there's probably sludge in all the oil passages. ouch.
It could be the pump, but if you pulled the pan and cleaned out gunk and stuff, then there is a good chance that gunk is in your motor too.

You can get an aftermarket oil pressure gauge and attach it to where the oil pressure sender is. I still think it's a case of sludge though. Get ready to pull apart the motor if you want to keep the car.

thanks for the good advice
I already paid to much and changed most of the gaskets for this motor and when I changed the rocker arm cover gasket I found this gunk
can I remove the cylinder head and the oil pan to clean or I must remove the motor out of the car

you can remove the head and pan, also i would remove oil pump, ..
But what worries me about all this is that , you don't know if already there has been rod or main bearing damage,,
i would remove and inspect at least 1 cap of each,, just to make sure,, but i advice to chk them all..

if you do.......torque for the rod bearings is 34 lb ft
main bearings you torque in 2 steps , first at 22 lb ft ( do all of them ) ,, then final step , at 54 lb ft.........and make sure to torque them in a criss cross pattern starting in the center

the head bolts you torque in 3 steps,,

first at 29 lb ft
second at 51 lb ft
last step at 78 lb ft ,,,,,,,,,,,again torque in a criss cross pattern starting in the center

you can always use an engine cleaning solution (basically kerosene) to dissolve the gunk in the engine.

In a nutshell after you warm up engine

1. drain oil
2. add new oil -1 quart
3. add engine cleaner solution (usually in 1 quart bottle)
4. idle car for approximately 5-10 (read instructions for exact time)
5. drain oil and change filter
6. refill with new oil +.5 quart

drive as you normally would

I did it to a 89 mercury sable with 133K on it with no ill effects and also a 1989 Honda predude with 160K plus on it with no ill effects
