If it stumbles and dies,,no check engine light,,how long has it been since the fuel filter was changed,, also check fuel pressure,, but remember ,,, just because you have pressure does not mean you have volume,,good luck.

Are you not hearing the fuel pump when turning keyswitch to On? Pump should come on and run for 2-3 secs, then go off. If you do hear the fuel pump, then replacing fuel pump is unlikely to help.

Problem may be Main Fuel Relay and not fuel pump. Replacing fuel pump is a pretty big job to do just to see if it will help.

good luck

Had to be the relay. New fuel pump is in and not working. Would the fuel sender unit be the problem?

Only if fuel level is too low to provide fuel to fuel pump.

good luck

Ok this is driving me nuts. Just got the new relay in and there is about a quarter tank of gas in the tank with the new fuel pump in and its still not kicking the fuel pump on.

Power is likely missing, perhaps a fuse blown or faulty ignition switch.

Check ECU fuse 28 (10A underhood fuse box), fuse 2 (15A under dash fuse box), and fuse 9 (7.5A underdash fuse box).

If fuses are good, check blk/yel wire at under dash fuse box (pull fuse 2 and check both contacts, one should be hot w/ keyswitch On.

If no power to fuse 9, ignition keyswitch assy is faulty and must be replaced (a common fault).

good luck

<<<@!1!@>>>

If fuse 9 has no power (keyswitch On?) to either socket, then ignition switch is not passing power and new ignition switch assy should be installed.

Check youtube videos. Here is one of the better videos. Different year but very similar to yours.

good luck
