Just bought an old 85 Accord. with an auto. Guy I bought it from said it was the starter, replaced that. But then i realized that it was actually the gear that the starter turns. How do I rotate the engine, so I can get past the part on the gear that is grinded down? Just started getting into hondas, mostly know v8s. Thanks a bunch

Why are you trying to get past the part on the Flywheel where your gear may be damaged, take the starter off and inspect with a flash light if you can get in that close..
