Neutral Dropping?
ORIGINAL: 84Accord
Seriously, if you have to do that to make your car spin the tires, then it's just weak and you probably shouldn't be hotrodding it around.

I have no clue what you're talking about...
What does burning out have to do with neutral dropping your car?
I'm talking about going from drive to neutral when you're doing like 40 on a road and you see the light infront of you change to red, so you take your foot off the accel. and drop the gear.
I dont intend on hotrodding... lol.

well, i guess you dont know what neutral dropping is to begin with. It involves pushing down the gas pedal while in neutral then putting it into gear. This was identified by 19acord97 in his first post. You failed to mention the conditions of which you were doing things with your car and you also failed to mention that you werent doing what was described before hand.
I just re-read 19acord97's post& he didn't really describe it either. Sounds like Rman just has the wrong term for what he's doing.
Neutral-drop is when you're stopped. Put it in neutral, rev the engine to say 3000 rpm. Then put it in gear & floor the gas. You might make a lot of smoke & noise, but more likely you'll go home on the back of a tow truck.
What you're describing is simply shifting into neutral to coast to a stop. It's not real good thing to do,but not nearly so stupid as a neutral-drop.
When you coast in neutral, your engine will use gas to maintain idle speed.
Better toleave it in gear & take your foot COMPLETELY off the gas. Thecar's momentumwill keep the enging spinning, and the ECU will shut off the fuel injectors completely.
