Default Rebuilt 2.2 no start

Howdy. 95 Accord EX 2.2 VTEC

Engine was operable, but bad transmission

Replaced transmission. Rebuilt most of engine, new bearings, seals, gaskets, head gasket, belts, etc. Naturally had to reset timing. I don't have a book, but I think it's correct. Turned engine over to ensure no piston/valve interference. Reinstalled engine.

The car turns over but will not start. There is no spark at the plugs, and I don't think the fuel pump is running.

In other vehicles, that would make me think the crankshaft position sensor had not been reconnected. In the Accord, I don't see a CPS, but maybe internal ?

I would be grateful for suggestions for what may be the cause.

Nothing off the table. I have looked for disconnected wiring. I don't see any, but I don't discount the possibility.

Thank you

Not sure about 95, but the CPS is locate next to the crank gear behind the crank pulley in my 99 and the connector is on the outside of the timing belt cover, where both pieces of the cover joint together on the backside.

Default CPS in distributor assembly

I just read elsewhere that the CPS is in the distributor assembly. That would explain why I couldn't see any wiring for it around the crankshaft front end.

I don't know. Maybe my timing is wrong.

Check the ground on the end of the TB (drivers side)...this is the main ground for the ecu, if it is not on and secure the ECM will not fire the dist or injectors.....

On 1995, the CKP sensor is inside the distributor (along with the TDC & CYP sensors). A couple years later they moved it to the front cover & changed around the timing-sensor scheme.

Default issue resolved

Thanks to all replies, but especially thanks to Poorman !

The issue was indeed an improperly grounded computer. That and the distributor was 180 degrees out.

hmm have you tried looking at the distributor cap. maybe its dead? or maybe even the timing of the car? run a compression test to make sure your timing is not off
