Risks of adding performance...
I am wondering if by adding such things as a cold air intake, exhaust and headers will add too much stress to my engine and cause me more problems than good? If so is there anything i should do before starting my upgrades?? I have heard that replacing the complete set of head gaskets can be a good idea, anyone have expieience?? Answer one or answer all, thanks.

RE: Risks of adding performance...
The one thing you want to do before you start throwing performance stuff on your car is make sure that all your regular maintenance items are done. Its not that intake/header/exhaust place stress on your engine so much as you dont want to spend all that money just to have your timing belt break because it wasnt changed, and then your engine is screwed.

Why did you post this under general tech help and then again here?? There's NO need for that at all.I answered the other one and mods need to delete this one since it's a duplicate question.

simple mods installed correctly will not have an adverse affect on the car. but once you start with the serious mods, reliability will suffer if you do not replace the proper parts with upgraded ones...
