i am hearing rotating/spinning sounds from my engine, i am pretty sure its the belt. is that normal for an old car? can i do anything to minimize the noise? the belts are pretty new.

Noises like that are really hard to figure out without hearing it firsthand.Try using a poor-man's stethoscope (scrap of garden hose) to pinpoint the location of the sound. Don't get it caught in the spinning pulleys...
