Default Should I mod an automatic?

I just bought a 2000 V6 Honda Accord has almost 200k miles on it, I got it for cheap thinking even if I don't do anything I can sell it and find another one if I save some money, but as of right now I actually need a decent running car. This one seems to be very good even with all the miles,

I was just wondering seeing some of the VIP videos of accords on youtube if i should mod this one. I would like a manual V6 coupe but I don't know what to do right now, was just wondering if someone is in the same boat as I'm in or has modded their automatic accord.

tranny is crap apparently, im at 95k and i haven't had a problem, but I wouldn't do TOO much to it unless you want to swap...
i'd stick with external mods and at least make it look good

I wouldn’t mod the auto. the cost is 2 high. I would swap 5speed. Or buy a 5speed accord. Also as far as I know honda auto trans don't come with LSD. You want LSD when you have some power. Otherwise only one wheel spins under hard acceleration.
What are your power goals for the engine?

I just want an engine tuned enough for a nooby beginner, nothing too powerful I can't handle, I was wondering how much a 5speed swap would be, if I go that route and swap with another engine.

Im doing a auto 2 5speed swap right now on my cb7.

rear auto 2 5speed engine mount $110 (not usre if your gen accord needs this or not but mine dose)
5 speed trans mount $45
master clutch cyl $35
Slave cyl $35
Master cyl reservoir $15
5 speed clutch pedal assembly $20-50
*Fitting, 90 Degree, -3 AN Male to 1/8 in. NPT Male $6
*Fitting, Metric Adapter, Oil Pressure, 1/8 in. NPT Female to 12mm x 1 Male $9
*Fittings, Brake Adapter, Steel, -3 AN to 10mm x 1.0 Male $12
*Brake Line, Speed-Flex, Braided Stainless Steel, 72 in., -3 AN Female, -3 AN Female $30
Clutch and pressure plate of choice $100-300
Flywheel $150-300
Pass side axle $100
5 speed shifter assembly w/ shifter cables $60-70
5 speed starter $120 (if it didnt't come with your trans most of the time they do)
5 speed trans $100-400

(the stuff marker with "*" is a substation for the clutch line from master cyl to slave and deletes the dampener "which is not needed")

#edit# most the the pricing is buying parts from a junk yard or pick n pull NOT NEW

I think that covers it all. It's a good bit of work with the engine and trans in the engine bay. Right now it's easy for me b/c I don't have anything in my bay so I have all the room to work with.
Depending on what engine you want to swap you want. H22 swap is 2k w/o install. That will include your trans as well.

this is a good write up for the swap

But I-reef has a 2000 V-6 which never came with a manual trans. He's looking at a swap from Acura TL or something?? How else can he get a manual trans?

Yeah he would have to go for a 6speed. But everything I post gives him a general idea of what he has to do to make this swap work and how much it will cost him…I’m sure after he sees the cost he might not think it’s worth it to him. Not saying he isn’t mechanically inclined but doing the trans swap isn’t a walk in the park. I would say it s 7 or 8 out of a scale of 1-10

I personally would still swap for the h22. they make less power but are faster than the 2xxhp v6's. The v6's weren’t made to be a performance engine. Hint's the sohc...Also will have more room in the engine bay if he wants to go forced induction.
I’m seeing more ppl now swapping from the v6's 2 the h22 engines for performance

hmm hmmm, I'm not mechanically inclined, soo maybe I'll just pass on this one and just make it look nice until i can find a manual coupe. But if I get a h22 for 2k would i still have to go through the same issues of fixing it?
