Default Timining Balance Shaft belt help

I have a f22b2, the pulley right of the crank has a timing mark on it, but i dont see any other marks to match it to, does this one need to even be aligned? I know the oil pump does but what about this other pulley?

The pointer on the sprocket should point at at intersection of two upset ridges that are part of the oil pump housing behind the sprocket at about the 5 o'clock position.

Also you can remove the cover on rear of engine and insert a 4" long x 1/4" (6mm) bolt into the balance shaft. Bolt should go completely through the shaft and the pointer should be at about 5 o'clock position.

The fact you are asking these questions indicates you don't have enough informatoin for this job. There are download manuals available from Online Manuals post in DIY forum. Don't procede on this job w/o a manual.

good luck

I have done everything else with no problems whatsoever, and I've studied and read tutorials for days now. The tutorial is kind of vague on this portion, maybe it's because there is so much oil buildup that I just simply cannot see them, will keep you updated.

The ridges that I see that are in the shape of a triangle are at about the 9 oclock position, sound about right?

There's a mark on the sprocket part of it and there is a notch or what you called ridges on the plate right behind it, these two seem to be one piece and cannot be lined up.

Sorry, the quality isn't very good, but in the last picture, the top left is the marking on the sprocket and the bottom right at about 5 oclock is the notch on the plate behind it

Thank you, I didn't look at it because I was trying to find it f22b2 2.2l specific instead, seems that they are similar

These are your balance pulleys and they should be aligned with the crank and you also have a timing mark on the flywheel the only pulley that does not have a timing mark is the pulley for the water pump hope this helps
