Default volve adjustment

I have a 97 honda accord and I bought it jan 2011 (131,000miles). In April I started to hear a noise in the engine. I took it in and they said I needed a volve adjustment. I havent got one yet but my car runs smooth. Do I need to get one? how long can i go without getting one? Whats the average price for one? What could happen if I dont get one?

Check the maintenance schedule in your owners manual, but I think you need on every 100k miles.

You can damage the valves & valve seats & turn a simple adjustment into a really expensive repair if you wait.
