What can I do with an A20?

What can I do with an A20?
Well, I just got this '87 Accord last week and it is pretty dang fast for a sedan. I would guess mid 18's. With the best of my knowledge, this is an A20A1 12 valve.
This thing has 150 lbs of compression across the board, which I can't believe for 211k miles.
It has a good manual tranny.
My goal is to get the low 16's with as little little money as possible.
Stock Carb with stock induction (would love to see how I can intake this)
Stock exhaust (would love to see a cheap replacement)
I just want to know I can pull 16's. It's not gonna be a drag car, but more of a get the heck outa there car! I'm hoping to keep up with most of the ricers around here, but my hopes aren't too high... B16's and 18's are as common as a gas station around here, so when I save some money, I could possibly just put a B16 VTECin it after a while, but I want to get the most out of my current engine.
Wouldn't it be a shame to take such a good engine out of this car? I just need some help from people who know the industry and know the $1/horse trick

Well, it would be a shame to let such a good motor go to waste, and I really don't like transaxles. I'm sure that when I can afford a good engine for it, I could get a couple of people around town to help me with a swap.
