I zip tied the two ends of the vaccume hose connected to the intake pipe to eliminate any leaks. When i installed the intake, i had driven the car 20 miles and the sound was never there.

When i said squeal, it is not a belt sqeual. It is a whistle sound with the characteristics of squealing. My dad first described it to me as a cricket noise under the hood.

I will try to make a video today so you can hear it. I may be wrong, but i am 99% positive that it is not the intake. All places that could leak (pipe to throttle body, vaccume hose, filter to pipe) have been tightly sealed. The other reason that i do not think it is the intake, is the fact that i have watched at least 50 videos of honda SRI's prior to installation and after, and I have not seen such a sound.

so then there is really only one other option right?

that you broke something or that something is broke?

try putting the old intake back on and see if you still get the sound.

hi people,

i have the same problem, and i'm pretty sure it isn't the intake. it only happens under load on our '99 LX, and the car is stock. i just found out on another site that it may be the PCV valve. at least that is what fixed it for one guy. they are typically inexpensive (my taurus one was, anyways) so i will put one on this weekend and see how it works.

have a sticky pedal on start-up that is supposed to be due to carbon, so i have to clean the throttle body and butterfly this weekend, too; hopefully i can get that while i'm replacing the PCV valve.

good luck, and if you find out the problem, please post as i may still need the help if this doen't remedy it!

J
