* Please Help Clutch problems*
Thank you for responding so quick desert! On Monday I'll be taking it to my local mechanic. So how can I check this pedal return spring myself? I don't have my reference book today. Where do I look?
I checked the spring it's connected and looks like it's doing what it's supposed to. The loss of pressure is somewhere else. It's going to the shop Mon. I'll let you know what happens. Thanks for always helping!!!
OK I wanted to post the lastest news. My car was picked up today on a flat bed truck today and went to the mechanics. The mechanic said that he thought it sounded like my master cylinder. Does anyone know what kind of bill I will see from this? Yipeee it's finally getting fixed!!! Thanks guys! Breeze
I have no idea on what actual flat rate is but I'd guess about $100.00 for the part and about 2 hours to replace it.... so average shop rate of about $60.00 I'm going to estimate repairs at $220.00.... that's just an off the cuff guess though...
Thanks desert you're always there to help...You are great!!! The cars are the mechanics I think we are going to just let him do it. But I will check out the DIY section. Thank you! Breeze
breeze, as far as a racing clutch goes (for future info) there is no need to get one unless you've got high horsepower output, what they do is usually they are slightly lighter but the biggest difference is that they grab harder and faster, so that point when you slowly let off your clutch to take off gets shorter since you don't have the horsepower to slip it, for example if you went with a cermaic clutch it's going to either be engaged or disengaged, no real in between, so when you start letting off the clutch it's going to grab and just yank you, I wouldn't suggest doing a racing clutch in anything less than 200 HP, Perhaps a lightweight flywheel would be a better investment
