Question [1994 Honda Accord EX] Motor Oils

1994 Honda Accord Ex
4cyl. 2.2Liter VTEC Naturally Aspirated

I'm wondering what are your recommendations for motor oils?
Please explain the reasons behind your recommendation.

Thanks for taking your time to read this thread.

What does your Owner's Manual suggest you use? The recommendation should be to use whatever grade (xW-xx) Honda says to use, and then select a brand/product which meets your personal needs. Do you want long oil change intervals? If so, go to a 0W-xx synthetic (where the "xx" is the same as the second number from your Owner's Manual).

I believe it is spec'ed for 5w30. If you are in a COLD environment with lots of cold winter starts, a 0w20 would save on start up wear. In more temperate climes, the 5w30, in either synth or dino flavors, would work just fine. IMO, the type of oil used (as long as it meets manufacturer's specs) matters less than the frequency it is changed.
